Neighborhoods’ district and citywide virtual meetings in the months of May and June 2022
(details at https://detroitmi.gov/departments/department-neighborhoods/community-meetings)
GSD will also host 3 Public Open Houses to discuss the Plan and get feedback:
May 17 from 4PM-6pm @ Adams Butzel Center (10500 Lyndon St)
May 31 from 4PM-6pm @ Butzel Family Center (7737 Kercheval St)
June 28 from 4PM-6pm @ Patton Center (2301 Woodmere St)
After an 18-month process, the City’s Parks Planning team is excited to share a draft of the Parks & Recreation Strategic Plan for public review. The plan represents the vision for Detroit Parks and Recreation for the next ten years and is shaped by extensive outreach completed in 2020 and 2021, including over 700 survey responses, and 27 focus groups. GSD is collecting feedback through an online feedback form, virtual meetings, and a series of open house events. The draft plan is available for public comment until June 30, 2022. Note: Funding for the plan and survey are being done in-house with existing GSD staff without any designated funding being allocated or spent.
