Kemeny Recreation Center
The pride of District 6. This recreation center was beautifully renovated and enlarged in 2019, proudly serving the southernmost point of Detroit often referred to as the “dogleg”. Enjoy basketball courts and fields for baseball, softball, soccer here. Karoly “Charles” Kemeny hailed from a well-known Delray family of business owners. His potential was professional baseball; however, his young age prohibited him to sign the contract. Instead, he enlisted for service in WWII. He died in France in 1944.
