Recycle Here! is free for all Detroit residents
Recycle Here! is a recycling drop-off facility located at 5960 Lincoln St. Bring your recyclable materials to Recycle Here! and staff can help you sort items into the correct bin. They also operate a take-something, leave-something area called the "Junk Hole" for items that can be upcycled or reused.
Hours:
Mon/Wed: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Sat: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Accepted Materials:
- Styrofoam: Clean take-out containers and packing peanuts. All items must be clean and of a proper consistency of polystyrene.
- Film Plastics: #2 and #4 (grocery bags, packaging)
- Hard Plastics: #1-7 (excluding #3), labeled with recycling symbol
- Metal: All containers, large scrap at staff discretion
- Glass: All containers (NO window, treated, or Pyrex glass)
- Paper: Loose leaf, magazines, flyers, posters, envelopes (NO tissue or wax paper). Shredded paper must be bagged separately.
- Cardboard: Flattened, brown-paper material only. Cardboard must be flattened and easy to handle.
- Aseptic Cartons: All juice, broth cartons
- Books: Paperbacks, hardcovers (NO binders)
Not Accepted:
Electronics, batteries, light bulbs, ink cartridges. Please take these items to take to the City's Household Hazardous Waste facility.
All materials must be clean, empty, and boxes flattened.
